Men's Cross Country Moves To 12th In South Region

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s cross country team moved up one spot to 12th in the latest United States Cross Country Coaches Association South Region poll released Monday.

The Hurricanes, who were 13th in last week’s poll, finished third out of 28 schools at this weekend’s Disney Cross Country Classic held at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL.

Miami was led by sophomore Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, FL) who placed seventh out of 260 runners in a time of 25:28.52. Overall the Hurricanes had four runners finish in the top-50 including freshman Tom Berry (Stamford, CT) who was 19th (26:06.81), freshman Zach Castigione (Brighton, MI) who finished 42nd (26:47.88) and freshman Seth Kampf (Ellicott City, MD) who placed 49th (26:56.39).

Miami returns to action on Friday, October 17 at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, FL.
