CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami of football team wrapped up preparations for its season opener with Louisiana Tech on Tuesday afternoon with 90-minute workout in shells at the Greetree Practice facility.
Hurricanes’ head coach Larry Coker announced that wide receiver Akieem Jolla has been suspended for the Louisiana Tech game on Thursday, Aug. 28, for a violation of team policy. Coker also announced that linebacker Rocky McIntosh, wide receiver Jason Geathers and offensive guard Joe McGrath would not be making the trip to Louisiana Tech due to injuries.
The Hurricanes and Bulldogs are slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Thursday at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La., in front of a national television audience on ESPN.
