Women's Champ 8+ Placed First At The Head Of The Indian Creek

The University of Miami Women’s Championship 8+ entry placed first at the Head of the Indian Creek on sunday October 13, 2002 with a time of 16:23.
The Women’s Championship 8+ consisting of coxswain Laura Comeau and rowers, Anna Cohen, Jordanna Heywood, Ananda Chou, Jaquelene Heywood, Ashley Marincsin, Caroline Stuart, Jacqui Julien and Jenny Krawec. University of Central Florida “A” entry placed second with a time of 16:28.
UM’s Women’s Championship 4+ placed second with a time of 18:14. The boat featured coxswain Megan Gallacher and rowers Julie Crane, Yennisha Pino, Margaret Knuth and Dorothy Clay. University of Central Florida “A” entry placed first with a time of 17:56.
The Women’s Championship Double (2x) finished first with a time of 19:32. The boat featured Bridget Gallagher and Taurii Coyne.
In the Women’s Club 8+ race UM finished second with a time of 16:59. The UM entry into the club race included coxswain Jessica Martin and rowers, Rachel Sander, Yassi Haririnia, Mackenzie Dove, Melissa Saunders, Tyler McHugh-Merrill, Elizabeth Miller, Michelle Owens-Wolcott and Deirdre Curran. University of Central Florida “A” entry won the race with a time of 16:30.
The Women’s Club 4+ race finished first with a time of 19:32. The club four consisting of coxswain Jessica Martin and rowers Yassi Haririnia, Mackenzie Dove, Patrice Wakeley and Mary Radlinski. University of Central Florida “B” entry finished second with a time of 19:39.
“Overall, I was extremely happy with our entire team’s performance. It is very encouraging to see our team execute the race plans with such poise and tenacity this early in the year. The Creek is an excellent warm up for the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston next weekend. The athletes have been working hard on the water as well as on land to prepare for our fall races and I know they were excited to see their hard work pay off,” said Coach Debra Morgan.
UM returns to action October 19-20 at the XXXVIII Head of the Charles, Boston, MA.

Event 21: Championship Eights (Women) 21 University of Miami, the boat consist of coxswain Laura Comeau and rowers, Anna Cohen, Jordanna Heywood, Ananda Chou, Jaquelene Heywood, Ashley Marincsin, Caroline Stuart, Jacqui Julien and Jenny Krawec.
