Mulvaney Leads UM At Gator Invitational

Gainesville, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Junior Matt Mulvaney (South Hadley, MA) finished 10th in a time of 25:17.58 to lead the University of Miami men’s cross country team to a fifth-place finish out of 24 teams at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, FL.
Miami had four runners finish in the top-36 individually in registering 178 points. Princeton won the event with 28 points. Host Florida was second with 62 points.
Senior Dan Boniface (Seattle, WA) put in another strong performance finishing 21st with a time of 25:53.16. Boniface and Mulvaney have been the Hurricanes’ top-2 finishers at all three meets this season.
Freshmen Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, FL) and James Mullaly (Ellicott City, MD) continued to impress this season. Brutvan finished 29th (26:07.99) while Mullaly took 36th (26:20.89).
The Hurricanes return to action on October 19 when they host Florida International and Florida Atlantic in a tri-meet in Coral Gables, FL.
