Women's Rowing Places 23rd At Head Of The Charles

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – The University of Miami varsity women’s eight placed 23rd out of 53 boats in the Championship Eight race at the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.
The varsity women’s eight consisting of coxswain Jenny Lee and rowers Jenny Krawec, Ananda Chou, Amanda Turner, Marijka VanderPol, Jacqui Julien, Monika Manios, Bridget Gallagher and Kate Weeden finished the course with a time of 17:20.269.
USRowing won the event with a time of 16:01.69, ahead of Princeton (16:10.84) and the London (UK) Training Center (16:17.759).
The Hurricanes finished ahead of prominent crews from UCF (25th), U.S. Naval Academy (27th), Rutgers (33rd), Georgetown (34th) and West Virginia (49th).
The women will return to action on November 3rd, at the Head of the Chattahoochee Regatta on the Olympic Course in Gainesville, GA.
