CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Q: From Doug Brown, Pompano Beach, Fla: Are there any plans to eventually have some covered seating @ Mark Light? It would help to attract fans to those Sunday afternoon games.
A: We are currently working with our architects on renovation plans for Mark Light. One of the suggestions has been a roof. However, because of hurricane (windstorm) building code requirements, it would be extremely expensive. It is probably not a high priority for that reason.
Q:From Richard Miller M.D., Long Beach, California: I am a member of the Hurricane club and alumnus class of 1971. What is the rationale for not televising the Rutgers game? We are #1 and have candidates for major individual awards shouldn’t we be seeking as much national exposure as possible??
A:The only television that was proposed for this game was in the Miami and New Jersey areas. It was not a national or a regional game. The reason we did not allow the game to be televised was that it would have required a move to noon which would be unfair to our fans in early September. It is too hot.
