Three UM Runners Earn All-State Honors

Tampa, FL – University of Miami senior Shannon Sarabyn took fourth in the women’s competition while juniors Jeff Gaulrapp and Dan Boniface finished third and fourth respectively in the men’s competition to earn All-State honors at the Florida Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships held in Tampa, FL.
Sarabyn, who had won a school record five consecutive races heading into the State Championships, completed the 3.2 mile course in a time of 18:16 to earn All-State honors for the second time of her career.
Sarabyn, who has been UM’s top finisher in every meet this season, led the Hurricanes to a fifth-place finish out of 22 teams.
Gaulrapp and Boniface both earned All-State honors for the first time in leading the UM men to a third-place finish out of 20 teams.
Gaulrapp, winner of four events and Miami’s top individual finisher in every race this season, completed the 5.2 mile course in a time of 26:30. Boniface, a transfer from Washington State, finished with a time of 26:50.
The State Championships are the final tune-up for the Hurricanes before the BIG EAST Championships on October 27 in Chestnut Hill, MA.
