Hurricane Runners Headed To State Championships

Tampa, FL – University of Miami senior Shannon Sarabyn will look to win her sixth consecutive race while junior Jeff Gaulrapp will attempt to win for the fifth time in six events this season at the Florida Intercollegiate Championships on Friday, October 13 in Tampa, FL.

The women’s 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. with the men’s 8,000-meter race starting at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Sarabyn, Miami’s top finisher in 10 of the last 11 races dating back to last season, has won all five events this season and has nine career individual titles to her credit. Sarabyn took first in Miami’s dual meet versus Florida International last Friday in leading the Hurricanes to a 15-50 victory over the Golden Panthers.

Gaulrapp, the Hurricanes’ top finisher in every meet this season, has won four of five events this season. Gaulrapp finished first in the Hurricanes’ 28-29 victory over Florida International last Friday.
