Jenny Keim Named October Academic All-Star

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Senior Jenny Keim is a standout member of the UM Women’s Diving Team, as well as a two-time Olympian for the United States. She has been selected as the October University of Miami Athletic Department Academic All-Star after garnering a 3.36 GPA in Political Science.
Keim, whose parents have resided in Australia since 1997, was able to return to her new home during the recent 2000 Sydney Olympics as she qualified for two events. Keim wound up qualifying for the finals of the 3-meter springboard, where she placed eighth. In the 10-meter synchronized platform event, Keim and partner Laura Wilkinson placed fifth. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Keim finished ninth in the 3-meter springboard event.
At Miami, Keim is a multiple NCAA National Champion. Most recently, she placed first in the 10-meter platform event at the 2000 NCAA Championships, while placing second in the 1-meter and 4th in the 3-meter to earn three separate All-America honors. At the conference level, Keim was the 2000 BIG EAST Diver of the Year after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.
In 1999, Keim was named the 1999 NCAA Diver of the Year. She won the National Championship in the 3-meter springboard as well as placing second in the 10-meter and third in the 1-meter.
