Myrick Reaches 200-Meter Semifinals

Coral Gables, FL – University of Miami senior Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Northwestern) finished second in her heat with a time of 23.35 to qualify for the 200-meter semifinals at the United States Track and Field Olympic Trials in Sacramento, CA.

Myrick, the 2000 BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Year, ran the 10th fastest qualifying time. The semifinals will take place tomorrow at 6:40 p.m. (ET) with the finals following at 8:36 p.m.

Sunday’s action will be carried live on NBC from 7-9 p.m.

Former University of Miami track star Patrina Allen finished third in the 400-meter hurdles (55.49) at the Jamaican Olympic Trials to qualify for the Jamaican Olympic Team. Allen, a six-time All-American at the University of Miami from 1995-98, will be making her first trip to the Olympic Games.
