Hurricane Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth At State Championships

TAMPA, Fla. – Senior Nick Gramsky (Chesapeake Beach, MD) finished 7thto lead the University of Miami men’s cross country team to a fourth-placefinish at the Florida Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships in Tampa,FL.
Gramsky, who completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:01.93,recorded his fourth top-10 finish in four events this season and earnedAll-State honors for the second time of his career. Gramsky also earnedAll-State honors as a sophomore in 1997. Overall, the Hurricanes had fourrunners finish in the top 35 for a total of 121 points. Host institutionSouth Florida (23 points) won the event.
Joining Gramsky in the top 35 were sophomore Jeff Gaulrapp whofinished 13th (26:26.72), freshman Greg Bott who took 26th (27:04.41) andjunior Chris Zarandona who finished 34th (27:20.96). Sophomore Brian Londfinished 61st (28:14.01) to round out the Hurricanes’ scoring.
The Hurricanes returns to action on Oct. 29 when they travel to theBronx, NY for the BIG EAST Championships.
