The University of Miami Welcomes The 2001 Volleyball Players

(www.hurricanesports.com)-The University of Miami and Head Coach Nicole Lantagne welcomed the 2001 volleyball signees Wednesday morning. The newcomers reported at 8 a.m. and were fitted for equipment, took their headshots and headed to Key Biscayne for the team photo shoot.

The newcomers will spend most of the week going through student-orientation. The team’s first practice will take place on Thursday, Aug. 9, beginning at 8 a.m. at the George A. Smathers Wellness Center located on the University of Miami campus.

The Hurricanes open the 2001 volleyball season on the road Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. against Davidson College at the Davidson Tournament in Davidson, NC.

The team’s first home match will take place Friday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. against Long Island at the Knight Sports Complex located on the University of Miami Campus.
