Omaha, Neb. – University of Miami freshman volleyball player Lane Carico added to her postseason awards Wednesday afternoon when we she was selected as an Honorable Mention student-athlete to this year’s American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Team.

Carico becomes just the fifth player in UM history to be named an Honorable Mention performer by the AVCA, joining former UM standouts Karla Johnson and Francheska Savage (2005), Valeria Tipiana (2004) and Leyre Santaella Sante (2003).

As far as freshmen present on this year’s first three teams as well as honorable mention, Carico is one of just three student-athletes to pick up the prize. She joins Third Team members Kanani Danielson (Hawai’i) and Kelly Murphy (Florida).
