Photography- I am a Photojournalism minor and I also enjoy listening to music.

Why did you choose the University of Miami?

The size was perfect and not to mention it is the most beautiful rowing spot in the world (in my opinion).

What was your first impression of Miami?

Hot

Why did you start rowing?

I wanted to try something new and challenging.

When did you start rowing?

I started rowing in 1996 of my freshman year in high school.

What changes have you recently made to improve your rowing technique?

I have maintained a flat and solid drive and hit the “red zone”.

What is your best rowing memory?

My sophomore year FTRA, I was seven seat in JV, but we rowed as the V8. Unfortunately, we lost by five, but it was one of the best races of my life.

Would you ever consider rowing as a “life sport”? (ex. such as tennis or golf)

Yes, I am going to be one of those eighty year old women still hanging out at the boathouse and sculling.

Any superstitions before regattas?

I have a pair of racing socks for each season. Last year they were Star Wars socks with Yoda on them, so we had the force with us. This year they are hightubed socks with orange & green stripes. I do not race without them.

What advice would you give young people?

Why not go out on a limb, that’s where all the fruit is.

What did you do this summer? (Please include anything interesting – Sports/Non-Sports for possible feature stories)

The first half of the summer I coached at the Miami Beach adult rowing camp. Then I went to Washington D.C. to Intern for Senator Bill Nelson. It was an experience of a life time.

What are your goals at Miami both in sports and outside sports?

To row to my full potential. For our team to crack into the top 20 in the nation.
