Dr. Gillian Hotz is the Director of the KiDZ Neuroscience Center (KNC) at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and the Department of Neurological Surgery. The KNC includes a number of injury prevention programs for children and adolescents with the mission to decrease brain and spinal cord injuries. These evidence-based programs under the KNC include WalkSafe, BikeSafe, SkateSafe and the UConcussion program. The UConcussion program is a Countywide Concussion Management Program. They partner with the Miami-Dade County public high schools, most of the private schools and the Miami Dolphin Foundation utilizing a six-step protocol to ensure student-athletes return to play safely and to the classroom appropriately.
