AS A SENIOR (2011-12): Played all 10 events for the Hurricanes, posting a 76.83 stroke average… Led the team to a seventh-place showing at the Battle at Rancho Bernardo after carding a 74-71–145 (+1), and finished a career-best third in the event… Sank a 10-foot putt that would force a playoff against the then ranked No.16 Ohio State at the Hurricane Invitational… Graduated with a degree in kinesiology and sport sciences with a minor in exercise physiology.
AS A JUNIOR (2010-11): Started four tournaments for the Hurricanes, recording two top-10 finishes… Finished in a tie for ninth at the JU Classic… Fired a season-low three-round score (223), including a season-low round of 73, at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic to finish tied for tenth place out of 172 golfers… Missed the fall season and several tournaments in the spring due to injury.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Finished first on the team in stroke average (75.77)… Posted three top-20 finishes (Eat a Peach Invitational, Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, College of Charleston Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate)… Completed three-round scores of 223 at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate and at Edwin Watts/Palmetto… Posted her career best round (69) in the second round of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate… Finished 21st in the ACC in stroke average.
AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09): Ranked 24th in the ACC after posting a 76.63 stroke average, second best on the team… Played in 10 tournaments as a true freshman, tallying three top-20 finishes… Earned her first top-10 finish with a sixth place result at the Ryder Canes & Cardinal Classic, shooting 224 in three rounds… Finished 15th at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate and 16th at the Lady Pirate Invitational.
PREP: Played in the 2007 and 2008 U.S. Women’s Amateur, making the cut and winning the first two matches (round of 16) as a senior… Placed third in the 2007 Dixie Amateur… Made the First Tee Pebble Beach four years in a row… As a junior, took part in the Pebble Beach and U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, making the cut while shooting a 70 and 73… Shot a career-best 66 in the Scott Robertson Memorial.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Sport Administration… Daughter of Henry and Sandra Hirano… Father is a police officer for the city of San Francisco… Sister, Christina (graduated 2011), was also on the women’s golf team at Miami… Most memorable moment was playing at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach Pro-Am with her sister.
