2019 Outdoor: Debuted the outdoor season with a second-place finish in the 100m dash with a time of 11.37 and helped the Canes finish first in the 4x100m relay at the Hurricane Invitational, posting a time of 43.86 seconds and second in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:45.31âŠ.Finished second in the womenâs 200m dash with a time of 23.45 seconds at the Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge helped the Canes win the 4x100m relay with a time of 44.08⊠Ran the 100m dash in 11.46 seconds at the Florida Relays, was part of the winning 4x100m relay team who recorded a time of 43.56 seconds, which is the third-fastest time in UM history and helped the Canes to a third-place finish in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:33.34
2019 Indoor: Made her sophomore indoor debut at the Virginia Tech “Doc Hale” Elite Meet finishing second in the women’s 60m dash with a time of 7.42 after running a 7.44 in the prelims… Competed in the women’s 60m dash at the Tiger Paw Invite… Ran a 7.40 in the 60m prelims at the ACC Indoor Championships.

2018 Indoor: Impressed in her Hurricane debut, finishing second in the women’s 60m final at the UAB Blazer Invitational with a time of 7.35 secondsâŠWas second in 60m preliminaries at UAB with a time of 7.38 secondsâŠLed a Miami duo in the women’s 60m final at the Red Raider Invitational, finishing third with a time of 7.39 secondsâŠEarned an automatic qualifier spot in the 60m final at the Power 5 Invitational with her Heat 2 victory in 7.45 secondsâŠWon section 6 of the women’s 200m and finished second overall in the Power 5 Invitational with a personal-best time of 23.55 secondsâŠFinished second in the 60m final at the Power 5 Invitational with a time of 7.43 secondsâŠFinished seventh in the women’s 60m final at the Tiger Paw Invitational with a personal-best time of 7.33 seconds that ranks fifth in UM history….second in section 1 and finished fourth overall in the women’s 200m final with a personal-best time of 23.49 seconds after advancing to the final with a then-personal-best time of 23.51 that was third-fastest among qualifiers.
Prior to Miami: Steele is one of the top sprinters in the country. The 2015 FHSAA 2A State Championship in both the womenâs 100m and the womenâs long jump, Steele was also selected a 2015 All-American in the womenâs 100m byTrack & Field News. A standout from Pasco High School in Dade City, Fla., Steele was a coveted talent that heads into her senior season with the third-fastest 100m time among returning high school womenâs runners, 11.33 seconds.
Her personal-best 11.33 in the 100m was posted on a big stage as Steele took third place in the event at the 2015 Brooks Nationals. In addition to her blazing fast 100m time, Steele has a personal-best of 23.91 seconds in a 200m â an event in which she earned the FHSAA 2A State Championship as a sophomore in 2014 â and a personal-best mark of 19â2â in the long jump.
