Saw time at the Second Varsity Four and Second Varsity Eight in her first season of competition … Rowed four-seat for UM in a winning effort (7:11.93) against Connecticut … Sat bow while helping the crew to a third place showing in the preliminaries at the San Diego Crew Classic with the 2V8+ boat, earning wins over Kansas State and Sacramento State … In the finals, picked up a fifth place time of 7:15.37 on the day … Helped UM’s Second Varsity Eight to a third place finish at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships with a time of 7:18.42 … Opened the season rowing three-seat at the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta for the Second Varsity Four … Helped the crew to a sixth place finish with a time of 17:52.371 … Helped JV8+ crew to a third place mark at the Windermere Cup/Opening Day Regatta at the University of Washington … Rowed two-seat for the JV8+ crew that pulled in a second place time of 7:58.81 in a tri-race against Rochester and Dowling … Sat seven-seat for the 2V8+ boat in the home-opener against Barry and Nova Southeastern … Helped UM crew to a third place finish with a time of 17:09.6 on the day … Also rowed Second Varsity Four, collecting a third place finish … Served stroke for the 2V8+ boat at the Rivanna Romp in Virginia … Rowed four-seat for the fourth place crew in Second Varsity Eight action in the finals of the Aramark Sprints South/Central Regional Championships.

Helped Pioneer High School to a second place showing in the Midwest Scholastic Championship in Junior 4 as a sophomore (2006) … Finished in first place in that same event as a junior for the Junior 4 … Team finished in third place in for Senior 8 in the 2008 Canadian Schoolboy … Rowed for head coach Michael Dove.

Full name is Elizabeth Victoria Elner … Major is undeclared, but looking towards Pre-Med … Parents are Susan and Victor Elner … Both parents work as ophthalmologists … Has three siblings in Sister Sarah (22) and brothers David (19) and Nathan (14) … Came to Miami because of the strong academic excellence and good rowing program.

Says her first impression of Miami was that the campus is beautiful and the diversity amongst the students … Favorite rowing memory to date is moving from fourth to third place in the last 150m of the senior eight race at Canadian Schoolboy … Skated for nine years, as well as being a Hockettes Synchronized Skater.
