Hurricanes Wrap Regular Season with Rivalry Win
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (14-10, 5-7 ACC) closed the regular season with a gritty 4-3 win over the Florida State Seminoles (12-14, 3-10 ACC) on Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Seminoles earned the doubles point on court one and three for the advantage despite Antonio Prat and Rafael Segado taking the 6-2 win over Lyons and Alkotop.
Singles opened with another Seminole win from Alkotop over Mehdi Sadaoui, 6-3, 6-0, before Garot tallied a point for the Hurricanes with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win over Lyons on court six.
Kroslak then tied it after a 6-4, 7-5 ranked win against No. 113 Schiessl at three, while FSU took the lead back with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Segado.
Down to the last two courts, No. 75 Serra Sanchez picked up another ranked win after taking down No. 113 Craig, 6-3, 7-6 (3), while No. 121 Prat sealed it with a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win over No. 106 Miguel.
The Hurricanes will head to Cary, N.C., for the ACC Tournament on Wednesday. Their matchup will be announced at a later time.
