Dear Canes Community,

The calendar has flipped to the madness of March, but basketball is just the start of what promises to be a memorable month of postseason action for Miami Athletics.

Road to March

Our men’s basketball team defeated Boston College 76-54 Saturday to run its record to 23-6 overall and 12-4 in ACC play. The Canes have won six of their past seven games and are fighting down the stretch to not only cement an NCAA Tournament berth but also secure a top-four seed and a double-bye in next week’s ACC Tournament in Charlotte. Next up for Jai Lucas’ squad is a road trip to SMU on Wednesday, followed by our regular season finale Saturday at home against Louisville. Let’s pack Watsco Center and give the Canes a terrific send-off heading into the postseason!

Our women’s basketball team (16-13 overall, 8-10 ACC) lost at Georgia Tech in their regular season finale Sunday, which ended a four-game winning streak. The Canes earned the 12th seed in the ACC Tournament and will face Stanford Wednesday in the first round of tournament play in Duluth, Ga. Tipoff is 11 a.m. on ACC Network. Tune in!

Spring Football

Mario Cristobal’s squad hits Greentree for the first of 15 spring practices on March 24. Spring Game details will be announced soon. Our roster features an impressive blend of returning players and newcomers, both from the transfer portal and another highly touted recruiting class.

Ten Canes were invited to last week’s NFL Scouting Combine, more proof that our program is among the nation’s elite. Click here to read about their appearances in Indianapolis as they continue preparing for the NFL Draft.

We have an exciting slate of seven home games at Hard Rock Stadium this fall, including ACC opponents like Florida State, Duke and Virginia Tech. We have already set a record for season ticket sales but there are still limited seats available. Click here or call 1-800-GO-CANES so you don’t miss out!

Baseball Off to 10-2 Start

Our 17th-ranked baseball team (10-2) lost the first two games of a three-game home set to No. 10 Florida before Sunday’s series finale was rained out. J.D. Arteaga’s team is off to a torrid start on offense, averaging 13.4 runs per game. Daniel Cuvet has hit six home runs through 12 games and Dylan Dubovik leads the nation in hitting with a .565 average.

The Canes return to The Light on Wednesday to host Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m. before starting ACC play with a three-game home series against Boston College beginning Friday. It’s the start of an outstanding conference home schedule, including three-game series against Wake Forest, Cal, Virginia Tech and Louisville. Click here to get your season tickets today!

Community Service Competition

The NCAA announced last month that Miami placed third among Division I programs in the 2025 NCAA Team Works Community Service Competition powered by Helper Helper.

We ranked first among Power 4 institutions, with every student-athlete participating in at least one community service activity. Miami previously captured the Division I crown three times (2018, 2022, 2024).

I am immensely proud that our student-athletes continue to place among the top schools nationally in this competition. I want to thank our head coaches and Shirelle Jackson and our student-athlete development staff for placing such a high emphasis on community involvement.
