Miami Football Places Four on CSC Academic All-America Teams
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Four University of Miami football student-athletes earned recognition on the 2025 CSC Academic All-America Football Teams, as announced by College Sports Communicators Tuesday afternoon.
Offensive lineman James Brockermeyer was named to the Division I First Team after posting a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in exploratory arts and sciences. Brockermeyer was one of 25 student-athletes nationally selected to the First Team.
Defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor also earned Division I First Team honors. A graduate student majoring in liberal studies, Mesidor recorded a 3.71 GPA and joined Brockermeyer among the nation’s top academic performers.
Running back Mark Fletcher received Second Team Academic All-America recognition. Fletcher, a junior majoring in sport administration, maintained a 3.53 GPA during the 2025 season.
Offensive lineman Markel Bell rounded out Miami’s honorees with a Second Team selection. Bell posted a 3.78 GPA as a senior majoring in American studies.
The CSC Academic All-America program honors student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Nominees must be at least sophomores academically, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and be significant contributors to their teams.
