Hurricanes Team Store to Host 25th Annual Hurricane Holiday Shopping Spree

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Hurricanes Team Store and the Bryan Pata Foundation will team up for the 25th Annual Hurricane Holiday Shopping Spree for Kids presented by Milam’s Markets on Tuesday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Forty-five children from the Police Athletic League, The Boys & Girls Clubs and The Home Team will each receive a $95 shopping spree to honor the legacy of Pata, a former University of Miami football player who wore jersey No. 95. The University of Miami cheerleading squad, Sebastian the Ibis and select Hurricanes student-athletes and head coaches will also attend. Other sponsors include the Pat Covelli Foundation, 324 Creative, Big Cheese, Crepemaker and Flanigan’s.

Over its 25-year history the shopping spree has delivered holiday cheer to more than 1,000 at-risk children. The event was launched by Neal Bendesky (Game Plan Inc.) and HTS general manager Harry Rothwell and coordinated annually by Betsey Trinz.
