W. Tennis Adds Three For Spring 2026
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami director of tennis Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced Wednesday the addition of Dominika Podhajecka, Sofia Rocchetti and Ela Plosnik for the spring of 2026.
“We are incredibly excited to announced the signing of Sofia, Ela and Dominika,” said Yaroshuk-Tews. “Each brings something significantly different to our program. They are competing a lot and ready to make an impact right away.”
From Rzepin, Poland, Podhajecka comes to The U with a career-high ITF juniors ranking of 149 with three singles titles and three doubles title, along with two finals appearances in 15k doubles.
“I’m so excited to go to UM,” said Podhajecka. “It feels like the start of a brand new chapter in my life. I can’t wait to meet new people, experience new things, grow as a person and take on this amazing challenge. It’s a big step, but I’m ready for it.”
The Fram, Slovenia, native Plosnik joins the team with a UTR of 10.30 and career-high ITF juniors ranking of 529. She brings along a J60 singles and doubles title and is a multiple time national champion.
“This is a new chapter, but with the same goals,” said Plosnik. “I’m excited for what’s ahead with the UM team and I’m grateful to learn and grow alongside such incredible coaches and teammates.”
Finally, from Chiaravalle, Italy, Rocchetti owns an W35 singles title, has competed in the WTA 1000 Rome qualifying draw. She is also a two-time double titles winner and has reached career-high rankings of No. 380 in singles and No. 370 in doubles.
