Rodriguez, Heredia Colon Pick Up ACC Weekly Honors
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior Flormarie Heredia Colon and redshirt sophomore Ariana Rodriguez claimed ACC Player of the Week honors, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday afternoon.
The recognitions come after back-to-back wins over Florida State.
Heredia Colon earned the ACC Offensive Player of the Week award after another dominant week with 74 kills, averaging 7.40 kills per set, hitting .261 with 152 attempts, 16 digs and 78.0 points in Miami’s back-to-back five-set wins over rival Florida State.
In the first match, Heredia Colon broke the program record once again with 42 kills on a .284 clip, along with nine digs and 44.0 points for the Hurricane’s first win over the Seminoles since 2021. She followed it up with a 32 kill match with a .231 hitting percentage, had seven digs and 34 points for the win.
Heredia Colon continues to lead the NCAA and ACC for total points (623.5), total kills (549), points per set (6.78) and kills per set (5.97), also is second in the ACC in aces per set (17th in NCAA) and total aces (15th in NCAA).
Rodriguez was named Co-Setter of the Week after notching back-to-back double-doubles, with 96 assists, 28 digs, nine blocks and 11 kills for 16.5 points in back-to-back five-set wins over rival Florida State.
She leads the ACC in total aces (3rd in NCAA with 59) and aces per set (3rd in NCAA with 0.68), while also ranking third in total assists in the ACC.
Miami will head to Notre Dame and Louisville on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
