Nine Canes Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Nine Miami Hurricanes student-athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports.

The award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution.

Adrien Burdet (men’s tennis), Michael Donovan (football), Julia Edwards (soccer), Jane Fitzgerald (swimming), MK Kelley (swimming), Aaron Kim (track and field), Leonie Schuknecht (women’s tennis), Emma Tschetter (rowing), and Brian Walters (baseball) were the Miami student-athletes honored for the 2024-25 school year.
