
Heredia Colon Earns Back-to-Back ACC Weekly Honor
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior Flormarie Heredia Colon was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.
Heredia Colon had another incredible weekend as Miami claimed three more wins going into conference play. She tallied 64 kills for a .308 hitting average, 12 aces, 18 digs, eight blocks and 53.5 points.
Against Coastal Carolina, she earned 26 kills on a .354 clip for 30.5 points and followed it up 21 kills and eight aces, which is second all-time for Miami in a four-set match, and 29.5 points vs. FGCU. Finally, she earned 17 kills on a .308 clip, five blocks and 21.0 points to finish out the weekend against FIU.
She currently leads the NCAA and ACC in points per set (6.21), ranks fourth in NCAA and first in ACC in kills per set (5.11) and leads the conference in total points, aces and kills.
Miami will open ACC play with a Friday trip to Georgia Tech and Sunday matchup against Clemson.
