Dear Canes Community,
I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend. It was certainly a memorable weekend for Canes fans, and you can feel the excitement on campus with our fall sports schedule in full swing.
A Night to Remember
It was an electric Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium as our 10th-ranked football team posted an exhilarating, 27-24 win over sixth-ranked Notre Dame. Carter Davis kicked a 47-yard field goal to give us the lead with 1:04 remaining and our defense took care of the rest, posting quarterback sacks on the game’s final two plays. Carson Beck threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns in his Miami debut.
Mario Cristobal’s squad exhibited toughness, poise and resiliency throughout the game, and our fans were decked out in orange and cheering loudly from start to finish. It was great to see so many Canes legends on the sidelines, including Jimmy Johnson, who rang the siren as the team took the field.
We have seven more home games on the schedule – starting with Bethune-Cookman this Saturday at 7 p.m. – so we will need that crowd energy to continue. We hope to see you at Hard Rock all season long!
