Pellacani/Santoro Take Gold at World Aqautics Championships

Rising Miami senior Chiara Pellacani and incoming freshman Matteo Santoro won the gold medal Wednesday in the mixed 3-meter synchronized diving competition at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Representing Italy, the duo tallied 308.13 points to edge out the Australian pair of Cassiel Rousseau and Maddison Kenney. China’s Yajie Li and Zilong Cheng took the bronze medal.

It was Pellacani’s second medal of the competition as she earlier won bronze in the women’s 1-meter springboard.

Pellacani is the reigning NCAA champion in the women’s 1-meter. She also captured 2025 CSCAA Diver of the Year and ACC Diver of the Year honors. She also earned All-America honors in the 3-meter, an event she won at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.

The 22nd edition of the World Aquatics Championships continues through Sunday, August 3.
