CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami director of tennis Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced the addition of Princeton transfer Leena Bennetto.
“Leena will bring a level of maturity to our program that we are looking for,” said Yaroshuk-Tews. “She aspires to play beyond college and wants to develop in her final season of eligibility. We couldn’t be happier to add her to our program.”
The incoming graduate student comes to The U after spending four seasons with the Tigers, compiling 28 singles wins and 20 doubles wins, while becoming a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete.
Said Bennetto, “Miami is an amazing opportunity for me to grow as a player; I’m so excited to be a Hurricane.”
Prior to college, Bennetto was ranked No. 1 in British Columbia in U14, U16 and U18, while being No. 5 in Canda for U16 and No. 9 for U18.
The Vernon, B.C. native also earned a career-high ranking of No. 211 in the ITF World Juniors, secured multiples ITF titles and four Canadian National Selection Series titles in both singles and doubles.
Bennetto is the first addition for the 2025-26 season and will join the Hurricanes in the fall.
