Flory Earns All-America Honors on 1-Meter

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Veteran Miami diver Max Flory opened his run at the 2025 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships with an All-America performance Thursday night on the 1-meter springboard.

Flory, who qualified for all three diving events in his final collegiate trip to the NCAA postseason, took eighth in the 1-meter at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center to capture NCAA All-America honors with a final score of 357.80.

The 2023 ACC Men’s Diver of the Year, Flory added to an impressive postseason run by Miami’s divers that started when Chiara Pellacani won the 1-meter women’s springboard national title last week in the same pool.

On his first night of competition, Flory set up for a dramatic final dive with an impressive back half of his list – scoring 70.50 on a back 2 ½ somersault tuck for his fourth dive and nailing a reverse 2 ½ somersault pike for 76.80 on his fifth – that had him in third place entering his final dive.

The Fairfax, Va., native finished fourth in the morning’s preliminary round in a field of nearly 50 divers, posting a score of 374.00 to secure another NCAA All-America honor. His top-scoring dive in the prelims was his final dive – an inward 2 ½ somersault tuck – that netted him 68.20 points.

Flory continues his run at the 2025 NCAA Championships on Friday with the 3-meter springboard.
