Flory's Medal, Carvalho's Record Highlight Day 2
GREENSBORO, N.C. – A silver medal performance from veteran diver Max Flory and a school record from Giulia Carvalho highlighted Miami’s second day of competition from the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.
In addition to Carvalho, freshman Marissa Inouye (500-yard freestyle) also competed in the nighttime finals from the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Carvalho, Miami’s top point-getter in the lanes across the season, won the consolation final of the 50-yard freestyle in a blazing 21.69 to break her own school record in the event.
A day after Miami’s women captured two of the top three performances in the 1-meter springboard, Flory replicated their success with an impressive individual performance of his own.
Flory, who made the final of the 3-meter Tuesday, finished with 400.50 points on the 1-meter, taking second place behind Stanford’s Jack Ryan (411.95).
Inouye took fifth place in the ‘C’ final of one of her signature distance events, touching the wall in an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 4:46.91.
Miami’s 200-yard freestyle relay, comprised of Savannah Barr, Jacey Hinton, Adrianna Cera and Jane Fitzgerald, finished the event in a time of 1:31.34.
The Hurricanes return to the pool for Day 3 of the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday.
