Five Hurricanes Earn All-ACC Academic Team Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami golf team placed five golfers on the 2024 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the conference Monday.

Senior Sara Byrne, sophomore Olivia Grønborg and freshmen Barbora Bujáková, Rebekah Gardner and Aada Rissanen all earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team, marking the second straight season that a program-record five Hurricanes have appeared on the list.

Byrne is a three-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, while the other four are first-time team members.

Byrne graduated in May with a degree in accounting and a minor in finance, concluding her Miami career with a 3.825 GPA.

In her first year as a Hurricane, Grønborg recorded a 3.63 GPA, including a 4.0 mark in the spring semester to earn a place on the President’s Honor Roll. Grønborg is pursuing a degree in sociology.

Bujáková (real estate), Gardner (sport administration) and Rissanen (geography and sustainable development) all finished with GPAs higher than 3.0 in their first year at Miami.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
