Amion Villarino Wins Copa Andalucía
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Future University of Miami golfer Cloe Amion Villarino started 2024 on a high note, taking home top honors at Copa Andalucía this week.
Amion Villarino placed first after posting a three-round score of 220 (+4). She shot three-over par (75) on day one, even-par (72) on day two and one-over-par (73) in the final round.
This is Amion’s second win in the last year as she finished first at Campeonato de Espana Sub-18 Femenino in May 2023.
Copa Andalucía is the first major amateur event of the year in Spain and draws not only Spanish players, but also amateurs from across Europe. This year’s event took place at La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links in Cádiz, Spain.
Villarino, who signed a National Letter of Intent with Miami in November, will join the Hurricanes ahead of the 2024-25 season.
