Miami Posts Strong Showing at Head of the Black Warrior River
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Miami rowing team closed out its fall schedule Saturday morning, taking part in the Head of the Black Warrior River, hosted by the University of Alabama.
The Hurricanes kicked off the day with a 5000-meter head race in fours and pairs. Miami then regrouped to put three varsity eight boats and a varsity four boat on the water for a trio of head-to-head 1500-meter pieces against Alabama and Louisville.
“The team had an excellent performance from top to bottom today and it was an exciting way for them to close the fall segment of the 2023-24 season,” head coach James Mulcahy said. “We feel confident that they can keep learning and improving as a team so that we’re ready for the spring season come March. Thank you to the Alabama coaches, staff, and athletes for being great hosts and putting on another excellent regatta.”
