CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team extended its win streak to five matches on Sunday, defeating the No. 71 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 5-2, at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The five-match win streak is a new season long for the Hurricanes (13-6, 4-4 ACC) and Sunday’s victory puts Miami at .500 in conference play.
For the fourth match in the row, the Hurricanes secured the doubles point as the first singles duo of fifth-year senior Juan Martin Jalif and freshman Martin Vergara Del Puerto and the third doubles pair of sophomore Martin Katz and freshman Antonio Prat, tallied 6-2 and 6-4 wins, respectively.
Fifth-year senior Franco Aubone and graduate student Dan Martin were on the cusp of winning their doubles match, 5-4, when the doubles point was clinched.
