Baseball Alumni Game Set for Feb. 12
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami baseball program will host its annual Alumni Game on Sat., Feb. 12 at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
“The Alumni Game is always an exciting time for our baseball program,” Miami head coach Gino DiMare said. “It’s a time that we get a chance to recognize a number of former players that played over different decades here at the University of Miami. It also allows our fans to celebrate the former players along with getting a look at our present team for the first time.”
“For us, it gives our team one last game to play that’s outside of our normal intrasquad scrimmages that helps in our preparation for the season. We hope the fans are as excited for the season as we are. We look forward to seeing all of them at our Annual Alumni Game.”
While the Miami Hurricanes will not be hosting a First Pitch Banquet this year, due to COVID-19 protocols, the Alumni Game returns after a one-year hiatus. The event is free and open to the public. The Alumni Game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
In addition to the first opportunity to grab a Mark Light Milkshake and see the 2022 Hurricanes in action, alumni scheduled to participate in the game include pitchers Spencer Bodanza, Andrew Cabezas, Gus Gandarillas, Danny Garcia, Jesse Lepore, Chris McMahon, Brian Van Belle, Gregory Veliz and Thomas Woodrey, catcher Adrian Del Castillo, infielders Romy Gonzalez, George Iskenderian, Edgar Michelangeli, Johnny Ruiz, David Thompson, Anthony Vilar and Freddy Zamora, and outfielders Willie Abreu, Christian Del Castillo and Ricky Eusebio.
