Miami Hurricanes, CAO Bakery and Café Announce Relationship
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2019) – The Miami Hurricanes and its multimedia rightsholder, Hurricane Sports Properties (HSP), announced today that CAO Bakery and Café is the newest ‘Miami Made’ corporate partner to support The U and its athletics programming.
HSP’s ‘Miami Made’ program now encompasses CAO Bakery, Estrella Insurance, Miami Home Centers and Milam’s Markets – companies founded and based in the Miami area which partner with The U and receive heightened visibility among the Miami fanbase and campus community.
The centerpiece of the multi-year relationship is CAO’s sponsorship of “The Breakdown” segment of The Manny Diaz Show, exclusively on Instagram TV. Fans can watch the show every Wednesday during football season. “The Breakdown,” presented by CAO Bakery and Café, features Diaz or a coordinator breaking down film from the previous game.
“We have been a fan of UM since Day One. As a family who grew up in Hialeah, it’s an honor for CAO to be an official Miami Made partner,” CAO Bakery Founder Tony Cao said. “Like UM, our team is all about the community. We are excited to be part of The U.”
CAO’s rich history dates back three generations and is built on the same loving, hardworking principles found in Miami’s traditional Cuban bakeries. Offering Cuban and Cuban American dishes, CAO Bakery and Café has eight locations in South Florida.
“We’re excited to welcome CAO Bakery and Café to the U Family and our Miami Made partner program,” University of Miami Director of Athletics Blake James said. “CAO Bakery and Café has deep roots in Miami, and we look forward to helping them tell their story to our passionate and loyal Hurricanes fanbase.”
Hurricane Sports Properties secured the relationship with CAO Bakery and Café on behalf of the university. Hurricane Sports Properties solely represents The U and is the local Learfield IMG College team which manages UM’s athletic multimedia rights including signage, event sponsorships, digital, radio, television and the corporate partner platform.
