CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Senior wide receiver Braxton Berrios was among those student-athletes named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Football Team, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in December.  The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. 
 
Berrios, who has posted a 3.959 GPA as a double major in finance and entrepreneurship, has been a force both on the field and in the classroom during his career at Miami. Berrios has started all nine games this season for the Hurricanes. He has career-high totals of 38 receptions, 484 yards and eight touchdowns and has added 175 punt return yards on 11 returns.
 
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.

The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.
