CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team concludes the fall portion of its 2017-18 season on Sunday as it heads to the Rivanna Romp.
 
The University of Virginia will play host to the annual event, which will be held on the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va.
 
The regatta will begin at 11 a.m. with the Varsity 8 race, followed by the Varsity 4 boats at 12:30 p.m. and novice boats at 12:35 p.m. Boats will go off one at a time with about 10-15 seconds apart, in a time trial to determine the winners.
 
The Hurricanes will compete against teams from Clemson, Columbia, Duke, Louisville, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
 
Miami will race seven boats in the regatta and will look to build off of its impressive season opener at the Head of the Indian Creek where both of its “A” boats won the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races.
 
The spring session of racing begins with a two-day trip to Oak Ridge, Tenn., where Miami heads to the Cardinal Invitational beginning on March 17.
