CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team added to its already impressive list of postseason academic honors, as sophomore Dewi Weber and freshmen Filippa Möörk and Renate Grimstad were each selected as 2016-17 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.
 
The WGCA All-American Scholars honor comes just two weeks after the Miami trio was selected to the ACC All-Academic team.
 
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
 
Weber, who is majoring in communications, advertising and motion picture production, posted a team-best six top-10 finishes and placed in the top 15 in nine events this past year. The Netherlands native also won two tournaments, capturing the Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 24-25) and the Betsy Rawls Invitational (Oct. 17-18) titles.
 
Möörk, who is majoring in business, finished the 2016-17 season by competing in all 35 rounds during her rookie campaign at Miami. In addition, the Sweden native posted a scoring average of 73.86 and three top-10 finishes. 
 
Grimstad, who is majoring in economics, also competed in all 35 rounds for the Hurricanes during her first season at Miami. She closed the year with a scoring average of 74.66 and posted three top-10 finishes, including an eighth-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Regional in New Mexico.
