@HurricanesGolf Tied For Fifth at the #ACCWGolf Championship

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 19-ranked University of Miami women’s golf team is tied for fifth after two rounds of play at the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.

 

The Hurricanes posted a second-round score of 301 and own a two-day total of 586. Miami sits just seven team strokes out of second place.

 

The three-day event is being held at the Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island on the par 72, 6,186-yard, Beach Course.

 

Senior Delfina Acosta leads all Hurricane individuals with a two-round tally of 145 and is tied for 16th.

 

The Argentina native sits just five strokes behind tournament leaders Kim Metraux (Florida State) and Leona Maguire (Duke), both of whom own a two-day total of 140.

 

Sophomore Dewi Weber also remains in contention among a crowded leaderboard, as she is currently tied for 20th. Weber carded a Day 2 score of 76 and owns a two-day total of 146.

 

Freshman Macarena Aguilera tallied the lowest individual round on the day, as she carded a second-round 73 thanks to a birdie on hole No. 1.

 

Fellow freshmen Renate Grimstad and Filippa Moork rounded out the Hurricanes’ top five, as they are tied for 37th and tied for 40th, respectively.

 

Duke remains in first after it fired a Round 2 score of 286. The Blue Devils currently own a two-round total of 570.
