CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami football players Corn Elder and Tyler Gauthier both received honorable mention from the Associated Press this week as the organization announced its All-Bowl Team.

Elder and Gauthier both played a key role in guiding the Hurricanes to a 31-14 victory over No. 14/12 West Virginia in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Miami’s bowl win was its first since 2006.

Elder received the postseason honor after he tallied seven total tackles (six solo). In addition, Elder helped anchor a Miami defensive unit, which held West Virginia to a season-low 229 yards of total offense.

The AP honored Gauthier after he helped pave the way for 363 yards of total offense. He also helped anchor an offensive line, which limited West Virginia to just one sack.

The Hurricanes finished the regular season with a 9-4 overall record and a 5-3 mark in ACC play. Miami also concluded the year with five straight wins for the first time since 2001.
