CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami volleyball team will host the final two outings of a three-match homestand this weekend, as Boston College and Syracuse come to Coral Gables.

Miami will face Boston College at the Knight Sports Complex at 7 p.m. ET on Sept. 30, while Syracuse plays the Canes at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 2. Sunday’s match will also serve as Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Pink t-shirts will be given away while supplies last.

Olga Strantzali leads the Hurricanes’ attack. The junior, who was a Preseason All-ACC selection, ranks atop the ACC in total kills (225) and kills per set (4.33). Strantzali also is dangerous with her powerful serve, notching a team-high 20 aces that rank third in the ACC.

Anna Haak is another potent hitter for the Hurricanes, tallying 146 kills on the year, while Kolby Bird ranks third on the team with 87 kills. Bird also ranks second on the team with 11 service aces and third with 29 blocks.

Middle blocker Lucia Pampana is Miami’s most efficient hitter, leading the team with a .307 attack percentage. Pampana also has the team lead with 46 blocks, while fellow middle blocker Sakile Simmons ranks second with 34 blocks.

Hannah Sorensen paces Miami’s attack as the setter, dishing out 182 assists over the last five matches. Sylvia Hernandez anchors Miami’s back row as the libero, tallying a team-best 165 digs.

Miami has also received contributions in reserve from sophomore Codi Lee and freshmen Madison Dill, Carly Davey and Sara Duque.

Following this weekend’s matches, the Hurricanes will hit the road for a pair of matches against NC State and North Carolina. Miami will play at NC State at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7, while they are set to face North Carolina at 1 p.m. on Oct. 9.
