Miami Places Fourth at Wildcat Invitational
TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Miami women’s golf team concluded play at the 2016 Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday and placed fourth, following a final round score of 298.
The Hurricanes jumped one spot in the standings on the last day after they opened day two competition in fifth place.
The par 72, 6,492-yard, Sewailo Golf Club served as the tournament host for the 54-hole event.
Miami posted a three-round total of 883, which tied for its third-lowest tournament total on the year.
Junior Daniela Darquea and freshman Dewi Weber once again led the way for the Hurricanes as they both shot team-best rounds of 74. Both Darquea and Weber finished the three-day event with tournament totals of 212 and tied for fourth.
Darquea’s top-10 performance was her sixth of the season while Weber’s finish served as a career best.
Arizona’s Krystal Quihuis won the tournament with a three-round total of 209. Arizona also claimed the team crown as it posted a two-day total of 857.
Miami returns to action on April 1 at the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C.
