After meeting sophomores Mulloy Manning and Sean Grossman in the previous edition of cross country’s Get To Know U, this week we focus on freshman Carla Rodriguez.

Q: What has your time at Miami been like so far?

A: I love it! The classes and the students are so helpful.

Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?

A: The pride of being able to be a part of something larger than myself.

Q: What has been the biggest adjustment for you since you arrived?

A: Waking up early to make it to practice on time.

Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?

A: The many experiences I will acquire to help me advance in my career.

I committed to Miami over other schools because: of its amazing medical program as well as the various organizations that can help me achieve.

When I think of Miami cross country, I think of: the opportunity to get involved while doing something I love. 

My favorite part of being a Hurricane student-athlete is:  the help you can receive and meeting new people that you will grow up and have experiences together. 

If I had to describe the team in one word it would be:  dedicated

Coral Gables is different from my hometown because: it is harder to get around if you don’t know the street names.

The biggest adjustment from high school to college has been: The independence of having to figuyre out everything by yourself. 

When I committed to the University of Miami, I felt: When I got accepted I felt like nobody could bring me down from my state of euphoria.

I love running because: It is an escape from all of the stress in life.

My favorite moment in my cross country career was: running m personal record and feeling like all of my work paid off.
