The Game
The Hurricanes will go on the road to face the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on Monday, Nov. 17 at 8:00 p.m. It will be the first road game of the season for Miami and the first home game for MTSU.
The Series
Miami and Middle Tennessee have met twice before, splitting the two meetings. The most recent meeting was last season on Nov. 15, 2013 at Miami and MTSU won 61-55.
The Broadcasts
The game will be televised on the American Sports Network, with Matt Stewart and Nate Ross on the call. The radio broadcast will come from Dick Palmer and Duane Hickey on WMOT 89.5 and WMOT.org.
The Team
Head coach Katie Meier’s team features eight returnees, including starters Keyona Hayes, Suriya McGuire and Adrienne Motley. Redshirt freshman Nigia Greene and redshirt junior Michelle Woods will be looking to come back strong after missing last season due to injury.
Five new faces join the Hurricanes, with a mix of local, national, and international talent. The team’s newcomers include freshmen Erykah Davenport, Aisha Edwards, Keyanna Harris, Khaila Prather, and Laura Quevedo.
The Coach
Katie Meier is entering her tenth year at the helm in Coral Gables, and is looking to build upon the team’s many recent successes. The Hurricanes have made five consecutive postseason appearances, three in the NCAA Tournament and two in the WNIT, and have also had over 20 wins in four of the past five seasons. Meier holds a career record of 240-166, including a record of 164-121 at Miami.
Last Time Out
Miami opened its 2014-15 regular season with a victory over Oakland on Friday, Nov. 6. The Hurricanes won 66-53 and were led by sophomore guard Adrienne Motley, who paced the team with 21 points. Senior forward Suriya McGuire posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore guard Jessica Thomas played a career-high 30 minutes.

The Hurricanes will return to Coral Gables, Fla. for a seven-game homestand, which opens Friday, Nov. 21 against North Florida. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the BankUnited Center.
