The U is #BuildingChampions! Thanks to the generous support of our record-setting 7,000 members of the Hurricane Club and our more than 30,000 football season tickets, we are achieving excellence across the board as an athletics program.
The 2013-14 campaign was another successful year for the Miami Hurricanes on and off the field. A year after winning an ACC Tournament Championship, Paige Yaroshuk-Tews’ women’s tennis program won its first regular-season ACC title, while Jim Morris’ baseball team won the ACC Regular Season Championship. Both programs extended their impressive postseason streaks: women’s tennis advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the ninth consecutive year and baseball posted its nation-leading 42nd consecutive NCAA postseason appearance.

As a department, we had nine programs qualify for postseason play and 11 student-athletes recognized as All-Americans. The U is #BuildingChampions!
Our student-athletes continue to achieve success in the classroom as well. All 18 programs scored at least 960 on the most recent NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, with five programs receiving Public APR Recognition Awards. In addition, Miami continues to be among the nation’s leaders with a 92% Graduation Success Rate (GSR).
We continue to invest in our student-athletes and their futures by providing them with world class facilities in which to train and learn. We have wrapped up our first year in the state-of-the-art Theodore G. Schwartz and Todd G. Schwartz Center for Athletic Excellence, made possible by a $15 million campaign coordinated by the Hurricane Club. The Hurricane Club also introduced a $7 million Football Victory Fund, which is already helping to fulfill the immediate needs of our football program. The new TurfField practice fields are an example of just what that support can do.
In addition to its two-time award-winning #BuildingChampions campaign, the Hurricane Club has increased its membership by more than 2,000 over the last three years and is on pace to reach its goal of 7,500 active members by year’s end.
