No. 26 Golf Tied for Eighth at SDSU Farms
RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – The 26th-ranked Miami Hurricanes are tied for eighth Tuesday after 36 holes at the SDSU Farms Invitational. Miami bettered its second-day score by three strokes, shooting a second-round 300, and is 27-over through two days.
UCLA and Stanford are under par through two rounds. UCLA owns a four-stroke lead at 5-under 571, while Stanford is second at 1-under 575. USC and Arizona State are tied for third at 3-over 579.
San Diego State’s Emma Henrikson, who shared the first-round lead Monday, now owns a three-stroke lead all to herself at 7-under 137. Stanford duo Casey Danielson and Lauren Kim are tied for second overall at 4-under 140.
Miami sophomore Kailey Walsh, who was one of three leaders after day one, shot a second-round 80. Walsh is tied for 23rd overall at 4-over 148, one stroke ahead of teammate Daniela Darquea, who is tied for 28th at 5-over 149. Darquea carded the lowest second-round score for the Hurricanes, shooting an even-par 72.
“Today wasn’t bad, but it could have been better,” head coach Patti Rizzo said. “These undulated greens have been tough for us. We’ll look to regroup and finish strong Wednesday.”
After notching a second-round 73, junior Leticia Ras-Anderica is tied for 34th at 6-over 150. Junior Rika Park is tied for 54th at 13-over 157, while freshman Delfina Acosta is tied for 73rd at 18-over 162.
