MINNEAPOLIS — Junior diver Kara McCormack reeled in her second All-America honors of the 2014 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday, finishing in fourth place in the platform finals on the final day of competition.

McCormack, who finished sixth in the platform at the 2013 NCAA Championships, ended the morning preliminaries in sixth place and with a spot in the finals after a score of 312.40. But a 338.45-point showing in the finals saw her jump two spots and capture the best performance of her career University Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus.

The reigning ACC Women’s Diver of the Year, McCormack earned All-America honors in the 1-meter on the first night of competition. The Austin, Texas, native has been named All-America three times and Honorable Mention All-America one time during her illustrious three-year career with the Hurricanes.

Cheyenne Cousineau’s score of 276.55 saw her finish just three spots shy of a performance in the night’s finals.

Next up for the Miami Hurricanes divers is the 2014 Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, to be held March 27-29 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. Texas at Austin will serve as the host. A total of 35 male student-athletes will compete in the championships, including Miami’s Sam Dorman and Zac Nees.Divers were determined by performances achieved at the Zone Diving meets March 10-16. ESPN3 will stream finals sessions Friday and Saturday for both championships. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 9 p.m. ET on April 2 for the women’s championships, and 8 p.m. ET on April 9 for the men’s.
