UExcellence – The Campaign for Hurricane Athletics

The UExcellence Campaign is aimed at raising money to fund Endowment Scholarships and Athletic Facility Projects. In order for the University to compete in all 17 sports nationally at the N.C.A.A. Division I, we must raise over $63 million over the next five years, which will go toward the funding of Athletic Endowment Scholarships; the Hurricane Club Annual Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund; and Athletic Facility Projects. To succeed in this endeavor, the University turns to its valued and loyal friends to provide that measure of support which will assure enduring quality and place the University of Miami among the world’s leading centers of higher education. Hurricane Club – The Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund

The mission of the Hurricane Club is to strengthen the University of Miami’s commitment to student-athlete excellence by raising scholarship funds and encouraging volunteer leadership.

In 1984, the University of Miami Hurricane Club was established to provide scholarship aid to UM student-athletes, while also providing supporters and fans with a direct link to Hurricane Athletics. As a private institution, the University of Miami receives no federal or state tax dollars making fundraising efforts one of the most important elements of success. The excellence that Hurricane Athletics has become known for can be directly attributed to the generosity and support of a community that is represented in the United States and around the world. Membership benefits are intended to thank contributors for their generosity while also providing the opportunity for these dedicated supporters to stay involved and well informed about Hurricane Athletics.
